Last week, the Manuel Menezes de Figueiredo Auditorium in Vila Nova de Gaia hosted the closing event of the C-Streets project, a mobility initiative that is transforming the smart transportation sector in Portugal.
Representing ARMIS, experts Pedro Barradas and João Montenegro took part in the ceremony, highlighting the project's contributions and advances in the development and pre-implementation of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) in several Portuguese cities.
The C-Streets project, an integral part of the C-Roads platform, aims to standardize and ensure the interoperability of C-ITS in urban areas, promoting cooperation between cities and providing a safer and more efficient transport infrastructure. During the event, Pedro Barradas and Joáo Montenegro, leaders of the platform's Working Group 4, presented the milestones achieved by ARMIS and shared their perspectives on the future of implementing urban C-ITS across the European Union.
With the success of this initial phase, the C-Streets project reinforces ARMIS' and Portugal's commitment to modernizing urban mobility and aligning with European interoperability standards, enabling more connected cities and more sustainable mobility.
